Hello World!
Monolithic The Album and Documentary Film
The unconscious assimilation of ideas has mostly been the process or Modus operandi when it comes to my music making and song writing this can be slow like a form of metamorphosis but every now and again a bolt of lightning strikes. Indeed this is what happened for the conception of this Album and Documentary Film I am now Working on Monolithic. It was my friend and colleague and patron of the Arts Journalist Writer /Poet and Award Winning Film Maker Mr Ernest Beggs who took me along one faithful day. He simply said to me theres a place I want you to see and so we drove the couple of miles from our hometown Finglas in Dublin Ireland to a mystical and ancient site more than 5,000 years old the Neolithic passage tomb known as fourknocks burial mound. As we strolled up the slanting stony gravel pathway towards this majestic Mound I started to get chills down my spine and the strange feeling that somehow destiny had led me to this place mixed with a strange sense of deja vu And a feeling that the stars the ley lines had all aligned. When we finally reached the Fourknocks passage tomb the overriding feeling was one of peace and tranquility there was definitely an energy here I don’t know much but I know vibes my spirit felt restored we stood for a long time silent and transfixed as a gentle wind Blew. the music on this Album was inspired By this powerful location and this led me on a wider International Journey to discover Europes other Ancient Sites. Ireland is filled with such ancient places burial Mounds and Standing Stones and Dolmen’s these monuments silently cry out don’t forget never forget our ancestors and our ancient past. In our world of modernity perhaps we are starting to lose touch from the old ways myths and legends that are surely part of our DNA. To lose sight of this is to lose sight of ourselves.
